With Halloween just around the corner, artist’s spooky minds are starting to become horror centric. For his latest Great Showdown, Scott C depicts the classic ‘The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow’ in his own original, cheery fashion!
Last week Cult Collective were not the only ones to launch a brand new website. The Poster Posse launched their own dedicated website alongside their latest project, and official collaboration with Disney to celebrate their upcoming animation Big Hero 6.
Inspired by the Marvel Comics series created by Steven T. Seagle and Duncan Rouleau in the late 90’s, Big Hero 6 follows in the footsteps of Disney and Marvel’s other recent super hero team movie, Guardians Of The Galaxy as another example of how the mouse house are putting faith into lesser known Marvel characters.
Check out some of the great posters that the Poster Posse have created!
For those of us that grew up in the late 80’s and 90’s, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles helped define our childhood. Along with other cartoons such as He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, G.I Joe (or Action Force, if like me you are British) and Tranformers, TNMT were a institution. TNMT always felt different. Cooler. Unlike the others, they were a bonifide comic and cartoon series, along with a brilliant movie. They were born from something.
Bottleneck Gallery, those New York based mavericks of pop culture art, will be celebrating the Heroes in a Half Shell with a group show dedicated to the different iterations of the TNMT, “Turtles in Time”. Opening tonight, Friday October 3rd, from 7pm-10pm at 60 Broadway, Brooklyn, NY 11249. The entire exhibition will run until October 26th. Take a look at some of the amazing artwork that will be on display by reading on!

This Friday, Guzu Gallery celebrates the opening a “Deep Cuts 2”. With an opening reception, Friday, September 26th from 7-10PM, with art on display until October 20th, each artist was tasked with choosing a musical hero to pay tribute to through 12.5″ x 12.5″ screen prints, mirroring the size of a vinyl record.
Much like alternative movie posters, this is a exhibit that essentially challenges artists to produce alternative record covers, capturing why a musician or album is so important to them. Guzu will also make sure the night is a memorable one with free beer, live music and much more to keep you entertained!

Joss Whedon is the king of cult t.v. His shows have trailblazed their way across genres and demographics, creating characters you can identify with despite their fantastical situations and environments. Not to do the bloke a disservice, his movies have been bloody great, too!
