The Mighty Mini series by Hero Complex Gallery is becoming quite popular. With sold out prints by Derek Collier, Matt Ferguson and The Dark Inker himself, Stephen Sampson, fellow British artist Chris Skinner offers up the latest in the series.

Brad Bird’s The Iron Giant is enjoying something of a renaissance at the moment. Mondo featured a number of pieces as well as a vinyl release for this month’s Mondo Con and artists such as Bruce Yan have also been releasing some great art work based. It’s easy to forgive as the film is charming and endearing and was criminally overlooked when it first came out.

Inspired by classic scenes from the original trilogy, this set of three prints includes: “You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious”, “There’s a meteorite that hit the ground near here. I want to check it out.” and finally “I feel his presence. He’s come for me. He can feel me when I’m near.” We will leave you to guess which is inspire by which movie. All three will be released Thursday the 4th of September, 12pm eastern, at Bottleneckgallery.com.

“I Am the Law / A Life of Crime” is an art tribute to cops and criminals, authority figures, buddy cop films, cons, prison films, gangsters, heists, The Wire, gangs, westerns, spies, murder, whodunits, private eyes, and pretty much anything that represents figures of authority and/or criminal intentions in popular culture. To ring you up to speed, Art V Cancer, run by Chris Thornley (aka Raid71) & Julia Hall, is a fantastic cause. When you buy a poster from Art V Cancer, they promise to donate a large proportion of the profits which equates to at least £10/$15 per print to Cancer Charities. Only a small amount will be used to cover costs of running/developing Art V Cancer. Personally affected by Cancer, Julia and Raid do a fantastic job for a truly worthy cause.
Over the past couple of years Art V Cancer have been working with Joshua Budich on an extremely popular Star Wars print series. This Friday they bring that series to a close with the final piece, inspired by Return of the Jedi and titled “Like My Father Before Me”. Xombie Dirge had the official reveal today.

Designer Derek Collier presents us not with the towering Goliath that saves the Guardians arses on more than one occasion, but the cute Groot that… Ah, hell, if you have seen the movie, you know.

Recently Florey has been working away on his cute series, “Happy Little Bad Guys”, which he recently expanded with “Happy Big Bad Guys” featuring the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters.
Florey is now back with Wave 3 of the “Happy Little Bad Guys” series which features more of pop-cultures most evil bad guys just looking so damn cute!
Hero Complex Gallery’s website has been going through a snazzy new re-design of late and to celebrate, they have released two retro gaming inspired prints. “Lingering Haunts” by Nicole Gustaffson and “Mega Man” by Lastleaf are inspired by two of what are arguably the 80’s most well recognised properties, Super Mario Bros and Mega Man.
