Mark Chilcott Votes #WalrusYes For Kevin Smith’s ‘Tusk’!

I am unashamedly a fan of the movies of Kevin Smith. After watching Mallrats as a teen, I was smitten with the comic and pulp culture references and awkward characters. To me, the dialogue was as colourful as Tarantino’s. Except, you know, dicks and Batman rather than burgers and foot massage. I was impressed by Smith’s dramatic left turn with Red State. It was different yet retained what I enjoyed from a Kevin Smith movie. The characters.

With Kevin Smith’s next movie, Tusk, fast approaching I really wanted to share this wonderful piece by Mark ‘Chilly’ Chilcott. Mark is as much a fan of Smith’s movies as myself and this simple piece is pretty stunning.

Check Out This Arresting Preview Of Hero Complex Gallery’s Upcoming “I Am The Law/ A Life Of Crime” Exhibition

Does it ever bug you that gallery exhibitions are a little narrow in their scope? Fed up of just cult movies or retro video games? Probably not as they are pretty cool, but either way, for their next gallery exhibition Hero Complex Gallery have certainly broadened the scope.

“I Am the Law / A Life of Crime” is an art tribute to cops and criminals, authority figures, buddy cop films, cons, prison films, gangsters, heists, The Wire, gangs, westerns, spies, murder, whodunits, private eyes, and pretty much anything that represents figures of authority and/or criminal intentions in popular culture. Check out load of fantastic previews, below!

A multimedia event that theVerge.com described as “a cyberpunk love letter in the form of a concept album. Its goal is simple: to craft new works inspired by the world of Blade Runner. To this end, several musicians, illustrators, and a writer have joined together to create what is essentially a collaborative art project, which will mix up illustration, music, and short stories into one cohesive whole. “It feels to me that the world of LA 2019 lives on independently of the movie now,” says one of the creators, Fredrik Segerfalk. “That’s why we want to go there to look for new moments.”
